Karmak Bar Code Receiving permits the interface from a handheld bar code scanning device to the Karmak Inventory Management System. Items may be “scanned” into inventory as they are received. The bar code is scanned to quickly validate a part number and obtain the necessary information to satisfy the customer’s needs immediately, or to initially enter a part into inventory. Scanning eliminates the need to type in part numbers or look them up.

The quicker and more accurate counting produced by bar codes in your day-to-day cycle count increases the integrity of your inventory. Faster counts allow counter personnel to complete more cycles, and count fast-moving part numbers and cores.

In the Part Entry—Receiving screen, parts can be scanned and applied to multiple purchase orders. In this screen, you can scan a part number and apply it to a specific purchase order within a list of POs being received.

In the Scan Review—Receiving screen, scanned parts may be reviewed at any time to ensure accuracy. In the screen shown above, some of these numbers are going against specific purchase orders while others fill the oldest purchase order entered at the beginning of the session.

In the Part Entry—Cycle Counting screen, scanning for cycle counts offers similar functionality to receiving applications.
