Descriptions of current openings

PRICE FILE ADMINISTRATOR – Location: Carlinville, IL

A full-time position is available in our Price File Administration Department, reporting to the Manager of Customer Solutions.

Responsibilities and qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the price file development process for all platforms by receiving CDs and electronic media from parts manufacturers and determining the file type of the information sent
  • Convert the data to the INFO 5, Legend, ProfitMaster, and Director Series business systems
  • Work in collaboration with software developers on the most complex technical conversion issues
  • Resolve issues regarding price file information by responding to calls from customers
  • Work with distribution clerk and shipping/receiving clerk to ensure that converted price files are delivered to customers in a timely manner
  • Review price tape development and distribution procedures and make recommendations for improved and more efficient processes
  • A background in customer service is required, with truck industry parts and service knowledge preferred
  • Experience with file formats and data manipulation is required
  • Must possess excellent analytical, communication, organization, decision making and time management skills
  • Must be detail oriented, accurate, and have the ability to work independently as well as on a team
  • A solid knowledge base of various PC software programs is required
  • Must be able to comprehend and research software database issues and work on different operating platforms

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR – Location: Carlinville, IL or Springfield, MO

A full-time position is available in our Software Development Department, reporting to the .Net Development Manager.

Qualifications & Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Work with application developers to create and update database components
  • Work with business experts to create and design relational databases
  • Provide support in data conversions
  • Ensure that the performance, quality, and reliability of our databases surpass the expectations of our customers
  • Work with customers to design and implement best practices for security and disaster recovery
  • Provide informal leadership to less experienced developers

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience working with relational databases including design, development, and administration
  • Minimum of 3 or more years using Microsoft SQL Server databases in a production environment with at least 2 years working with SQL 2005 or higher
  • Experience with backup/recovery models, security, database mirroring, and replication
  • Additional experience with XML, .NET programming or Reporting Services will be considered an asset
  • Data conversion experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in a complex, deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to multi-task with little supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills at the business and technical level
  • Ability to integrate rapidly with an existing team

A full-time position is available in our Installation Department, reporting to the Manager of Installations.

Qualifications and Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Install, configure and support equipment and software both in-house and at customer sites
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: DEC’s VAX/Alpha/Integrity, iSeries, VMS, ODBC, Windows & Networking applications and SQL Server
  • Good organizational, time management and communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently with time constraints

SYSTEMS SUPPORT SPECIALIST – Location: Carlinville, IL

A full-time position is available in Systems Support, reporting to the Call Center Manager.

Responsibilities and qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive and respond to customer requests for assistance via telephone, email or other tools and work with customers to clearly delineate problems, gathering the information required for problem resolution and escalation if required.
  • Address urgent issues quickly and involve appropriate resources as needed.
  • Create active conversations with customers to ensure mutual understanding of the customers’ issues and to assure them that their problem has our attention.
  • Deliver solutions to customers and follow up to ensure successful implementation.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct online product training for customers as needed or provide for alternative information channels as required.
  • Assist with product QA as required.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Customer Support Representative team to resolve issues outside personal experience or expertise.
  • Properly document all customer interactions and support activities into the Customer First incident tracking system.
  • Study and stay abreast of Karmak products and system solutions to maintain an understanding of their application to the customers’ business needs and to serve as a subject matter expert within Customer Support to assist other Customer Support Representatives with customer inquiries outside their area of expertise.

TRAINING SPECIALIST – Location: Carlinville, IL or Springfield, MO

A full-time position is available in our Training Department, reporting to the Manager of Training.

Responsibilities and Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for implementation of our INFO 5, Legend or ProfitMaster products, which includes planning, setup, conversion and training
  • Ability to train in a physical or virtual classroom or workshop setting, as well as at customer sites, on the use of Karmak INFO 5, Legend or ProfitMaster software
  • Remain current on new and updated Karmak products in order to provide advanced training and support
  • Ability to create thorough and accurate training materials for both internal and customer benefit, to be used in a variety of learning environments.
  • Good organization, time management, communication, and presentation skills are required
  • A background in Karmak’s INFO 5, Legend or ProfitMaster products, inventory control, truck service, accounting, truck sales, lease & rental, or related experience in the heavy-duty truck industry is a plus
  • Good PC skills are required
  • A background in training or education is a plus
  • Technical computer knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Travel is required and can be extensive at times

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER – Location: Carlinville, IL

Full-time position available in our Development Department reporting to the .Net Development Manager:

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain software solutions for new and existing products
  • Work with business experts to create software applications
  • Ensure that the performance, usability, quality, and reliability of our applications surpass the expectations of our customers
  • Provide informal leadership to less experienced developers

Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience programming in .NET (VB and/or C#)
  • Ability to collaborate with business experts to develop innovative software solutions and respond to customer requirements
  • Requires strong Object Oriented Programming skills
  • Requires the ability to multi-task with little supervision and work in a complex, deadline oriented environment.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communications skills at the business and technical levels
  • Requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork, and the ability to integrate rapidly with an existing team
  • Additional programming experience with SQL Server and programming experience using Agile Development Methodologies is a plus
  • Preferred work location is the Carlinville office
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Open XML APIs within .NET is a plus
  • Helpful additional skills include programming experience with Windows Mobile applications, familiarity with Karmak or competitive products, and/or experience in the heavy truck or automotive industry, warehouse management or dealership operations
