EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT – Location: Carlinville, IL

Full-time position available in the Carlinville office, reporting to the President/CEO.

Qualifications & Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs complex administrative duties of a highly confidential nature for the President/CEO and designated direct reports
  • Works closely with department heads and executive staff in completing various special projects requiring compiling, analyzing and presenting information of a confidential nature
  • Manages schedules, including making appointments, establishing agendas and making travel arrangements
  • Handles and routes confidential information relevant to company operations, including answering phones
  • Makes contacts of a sensitive, complex, and confidential nature inside and outside of Karmak
  • Previous experience in a similar position is required
  • Must be detail oriented and possess exceptional communication, time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team member with minimal supervision is required
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Microsoft MCP certification a plus
  • An understanding of SQL queries using Microsoft Reporting Services and Crystal Reports is required
  • Creating/modifying analysis using Microsoft Reporting Services and Crystal Reports across multiple databases is required

SOFTWARE DEVELOPER – Location: Carlinville, IL

Full-time position available in our Development Department reporting to the .Net Development Manager:

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain software solutions for new and existing products
  • Work with business experts to create software applications
  • Ensure that the performance, usability, quality, and reliability of our applications surpass the expectations of our customers
  • Provide informal leadership to less experienced developers

Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience programming in .NET (VB & C#)
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience programming in a web environment
  • Ability to work out of Karmak’s Carlinville office
  • Ability to collaborate with business experts to develop innovative software solutions and respond to customer requirements
  • Requires strong Object Oriented Programming skills
  • Requires the ability to multi-task with little supervision and work in a complex, deadline oriented environment.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communications skills at the business and technical levels
  • Requires a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork, and the ability to integrate rapidly with an existing team
  • Additional programming experience with SQL Server and programming experience using Agile Development Methodologies is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or Open XML APIs within .NET is a plus
  • Helpful additional skills include programming experience with Windows Mobile applications, familiarity with Karmak or competitive products, and/or experience in the heavy truck or automotive industry, warehouse management or dealership operations

Qualifications & Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain software and report solutions for our new and existing products
  • Convert customer data to the Karmak business system
  • Knowledge of programming in Visual Basic, BASIC, or a closely related environment is required
  • Knowledge of the .NET framework using Visual Studio .NET a plus

MARKETING MANAGER – Location: Carlinville, IL

A full-time position is available in our Marketing Department, reporting to the President/CEO:

The marketing manager will be responsible for developing and managing strategic marketing activities. These activities will be primarily focused on increasing revenue through new customer acquisition and speeding the adoption of Karmak’s latest products by existing customers. This role requires broad experience in branding and multi-channel marketing. It requires someone comfortable taking a hands-on approach to managing online and offline marketing initiatives, creating marketing messaging and enforcing corporate brand standards. In addition to these activities, the marketing manager will be responsible for market research, competitive intelligence gathering, public relations, targeting and overall measurement of marketing program effectiveness.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Create corporate and product-specific marketing plans and develop budget recommendations to support them
  • Prioritize and manage internal marketing resources and budgets
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regularly gather competitive intelligence
  • Conduct ongoing market research, customer satisfaction research, and customer segmentation for use in strategic planning and ongoing product development efforts
  • Serve as the internal brand identity expert and oversee external marketing communications for consistent messaging and visuals that support Karmak brand positioning
  • Develop corporate editorial standards to ensure high quality, consistency, and professionalism
  • Develop and oversee production and distribution of marketing communications, including announcements, press releases, brochures, e-mail newsletters and oversee web site content
  • Decide on and negotiate advertising placements in industry trade journals
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with outside marketing vendors and agencies
  • Monitor, review and report on all marketing activity and results
  • Manage the personnel activities of the department (i.e., hire, train, coach, appraise, reward, motivate)
  • Manage department projects and responsibilities, assign resources, delegate work effectively to ensure accurate and timely completion, and report progress and issues to management and customers

Qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in corporate marketing/communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and efficiently with outside marketing and PR agencies
  • Ability to think creatively, develop and implement effective product messaging and integrated communications strategies
  • Proven expertise in web based marketing, including e-commerce
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively translate and communicate technical information in a meaningful way to non-technical audiences
  • Exceptional writing, editing and presentation skills
  • Resourcefulness, attention to detail, and ability to work well cross-functionally, on multiple, simultaneous projects, and under tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of the core software tools and emerging online trends
  • Ability to effectively understand data, analyze results, draw insights and conclusions, and recommend appropriate actions in an atmosphere of fact-based decision-making
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
